The “Quant Lays” Laboratory, the medical research arm of the “International Holding Company IHC” listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, announced the development of a new tool that allows mass tests to detect the high-speed Corona virus in seconds, allowing for an unprecedented expansion of the examinations cycle.
“Sky News Arabia” stated that the new technology will strengthen the position of the United Arab Emirates as an international center for research, innovation and technology, at a time when world scientists are racing to reach the fastest and most accurate technologies to examine suspected cases of infection with the Coronavirus, and may enhance the ability to identify carriers of the disease before it becomes It is contagious and poses a wider risk.
The same source added that this technology will enable specialists to conduct checks on a large scale, thus enhancing the ability to track cases and curb the spread of disease among the workforce.
“The tool, which uses an electron microscope, will allow the tests to be conducted on a mass scale and allow the results to be issued within seconds,” said Dr. Promad Kumar, leader of the team of researchers in the laboratory that studies and analyzes during the past few months changes in the structure of blood cells of people with the virus.
The same spokesman added that “DPI technology based on the laser and based on the inclusion of the optical phase can recognize the virus within seconds, in addition to being easy to use, non-invasive and low-cost.”
